Many of the people that come to my office have never retained a lawyer before. They often say, “I don’t even know what questions to ask. What do I do?” Don’t worry. Our office takes pride in our ability to relate to the first-time client. It is our job to simplify the legal process for you, so you understand it and can make an educated decision.

  • You should contact me if you are currently facing any of the following difficulties:
  • Can’t pay your mortgage this month.
  • Can’t pay your monthly credit card bills.
  • Collector’s are calling day and night.
  • Just served with a lawsuit.
  • Your paycheck is about to be garnished.
  • Your checking account is about to be taken by the bank.
  • You have no money left over after you pay your credit card bills.

We can help you answer any and all of your questions, especially the following:

  • What is Bankruptcy?
  • What is Chapter 7?
  • What is Chapter 13?
  • Will filing for Bankruptcy solve my problem?
  • What happens after I file for Bankruptcy?
  • Can I keep my car if I file a Bankruptcy?
  • How can a lawyer help me?
  • What if I have never hired a lawyer before?
  • Can I afford a lawyer?
  • Why do I know I need to consider Bankruptcy?

If you are paying for regular things such as groceries, gasoline, utility bills, rent, or a car payment on a credit card, and cannot pay the balance at the end of the month, you are in too much debt.

If you have more than $10,000 in credit card debt, you may have too much debt. That amount may change depending upon your total income.

Please call our office to discuss any of these issues. You will be able to speak to a lawyer about your situation.
Loan Modifications: Our office has not entered into this area. We have found that the banks handle them well. It takes time, but if you have the money to pay the mortgage, they will work with you.

Debt negotiations: Our office only gets involved with negotiations with a creditor if the amount is in excess of $100,000. It is difficult to say that you want a discount and still have enough money to retain a lawyer to negotiate for you.

Bankruptcy: Our office handles Bankruptcy cases for Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and some Chapter 11’s.

Short Sale: A “Short Sale” is a property that is sold for less than the mortgage balance. Please contact your tax person before you consider or finalize a Short Sale. There may be income tax consequences from the amount that was shorted to the bank.

Maintaining a proper corporate formation is essential to protecting yourself if a debt is due.

Did you incorporate your small business? Did you incur too much debt to keep your business running? Did you sign onto the liabilities under your name, as well as the corporation?

If you answered yes to several of the questions above, you should contact my office so we can discuss your options.
